Mental Health Support Worker Opportunity


We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Mental Health Support Worker to join our team at The Whitehouse Newent.


As a Mental Health Support Worker, you will provide support to individuals with Autism, Learning Disabilities, Behaviours of concern, Physical Disabilities, Mental Health, Epilepsy and Complex Needs.


You will be required to care for adults with Mental Health and Learning Disabilities, creating a fulfilling environment where clients can develop to their full potential.


To be successful in this role, you will possess excellent communication skills, as well as excellent listening skills, as you will be supporting people who use various methods of communication.


You will also have knowledge/experience/desire to support individuals with Mental Health, Learning Disabilities or Challenging Behaviour.


The ideal candidate will have a Full UK driving licence and ideally, an NVQ level 3 or substantial experience of working in a similar environment.

Key Responsibilities:



  • Provide support in a way that is respectful, promotes dignity and independence.
  • Provide support in any location appropriate to meet the needs of the people we support.
  • Communicating with the people you support using appropriate communication methods.
  • Assisting with individuals' care, including personal care.
  • Participating in the development and implementation of support plans.
  • Assisting the people we support with household activities.
  • Ordering, receiving, storing, and administering medication to the people you support.
  • Participating, planning, and running of the day-to-day events of the service.
  • Recording and completing any appropriate documentation.

Key Requirements:



  • Excellent communication skills, as well as excellent listening skills.
  • Knowledge/experience/desire to support individuals with Mental Health, Learning Disabilities or Challenging Behaviour.
  • Good basic comprehension of English language including basic literacy and numerical skills.
  • Ongoing commitment to own personal development and training.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Ideally, an NVQ level 3 or substantial experience of working in a similar environment.
