About the Role:
This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled CAD specialist to work as part of our Applied Warhead Engineering Team, applying their expertise in support of AWE's Weapon Projects.
The successful candidate will be responsible for producing conceptual designs, detail designs, manufacturing specifications, operational documentation, and validation evidence for mechanical engineering solutions.
You will work closely with senior engineers, providing technical leadership and mentoring junior staff, apprentices, and graduates.
Key Responsibilities:
- Produce high-quality mechanical designs, using CAD systems such as Siemens Teamcenter and NX.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver engineering projects on time and within budget.
- Develop and maintain design history, ensuring accurate records of design decisions and changes.
- Provide technical guidance and support to colleagues, promoting best practices and innovation.
- Maintain high standards of ESH (Environmental, Safety & Health), security, and quality, adhering to relevant regulations and company policies.
Requirements:**
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A degree or HNC/HND in an engineering discipline, supported by significant practical experience.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
- Proficiency in CAD software, particularly Siemens Teamcenter and NX.
- Knowledge of British and ISO standards, material selection, and Finite Element Analysis (FEA).
- Experience of Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) and design office environments.
