Consultant in Learning Disabilities Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Psychiatrist to join our Learning Disabilities team at Sheffield Health and Social Care NHS Foundation Trust. As a Consultant Psychiatrist, you will play a key role in providing high-quality care to adults with learning disabilities who have complex physical and emotional health needs.
Key Responsibilities- Work as part of the multi-disciplinary Community Learning Disability Teams to address and support the health, psychological, emotional, and behavior needs of adults with learning disabilities.
- Be a strong advocate for people with learning disabilities and have an awareness of health inequalities faced by this group.
- Work closely with other professionals in the Learning Disability service as part of a multi-disciplinary team (MDT) and with other Consultant Psychiatrists across the Trust as required.

Requirements- MBBS or equivalent medical qualification.
- Fully registered with the GMC with a licence to practice.
- Certificate of Completion of Training in Learning Disability Psychiatry (Higher trainees should be within six months of attainment at the time of the interview) or CESR equivalent.
- Inclusion on the Specialist Register or eligibility for inclusion.
- Section 12 (2) MHA 1983 approved.
- Approved Clinician (AC) status/eligibility to be on the AC register.
