Consultant in Learning Disabilities Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Psychiatrist to join our Learning Disabilities team at Sheffield Health and Social Care NHS Foundation Trust. As a Consultant Psychiatrist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality care to individuals with learning disabilities, working closely with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement treatment plans.
Key Responsibilities- Provide specialist psychiatric care to individuals with learning disabilities, including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning.
- Work closely with multidisciplinary teams, including psychologists, nurses, and social workers, to develop and implement treatment plans.
- Conduct regular reviews and assessments to ensure the best possible outcomes for service users.
- Participate in clinical governance and audit activities to ensure high-quality care.
- Supervise and support junior medical staff, including trainees and junior doctors.
- MBBS or equivalent medical qualification.
- Fully registered with the GMC with a licence to practice.
- Certificate of Completion of Training in Learning Disability Psychiatry (Higher trainees should be within six months of attainment at the time of the interview) or CESR equivalent.
- Inclusion on the Specialist Register or eligibility for inclusion.
- Section MHA 1983 approved.
- Approved Clinician (AC) status/eligibility to be on the AC register.
- MRCPsych or equivalent.
- MD, Other professional qualification (e.g., MSc)
