Job Title: Field Service Engineer - Fire Systems

We are seeking a highly skilled Field Service Engineer to join our team at Honeywell in Didsbury. As a Field Service Engineer, you will be responsible for carrying out routine maintenance, commissioning, and fault finding on Gent supported products on customer sites. You will work on a 24-hour, 365 days a year basis within the UK and abroad if required, in conjunction with the business requirements related to customer needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Adhere to BAFE SP203 via internal and external audit.
  • Accept/reject reactive works within 2 hours of receiving to achieve KPIs for fault call acceptance.
  • Reduce and maintain the maintenance backlog to achieve KPIs at the end of every calendar month.
  • Reduce and maintain the open calls to achieve KPIs at the end of every calendar month.
  • Control stock by booking off parts used and ordering on call they were used in order to ensure that stock variances are managed within budget.
  • Identify and action any additional maintenance and small works sales opportunities.
  • Act as a first line of escalation for Central Administrators and other engineers with problems on customer sites.
  • Be a mentor for new starters training them in SMS/Pulsar usage, including producing documentation, CPQ usage, and quote production.
  • Be able to design for sign off fire systems in line with B.S 5839 Pt 1 or have a working knowledge of multiple trades fire, access, EVC, CCTV, BMS.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
  • Extensive knowledge of fire systems of all manufacture, but essential to have knowledge of Gent By Honeywell products.
  • A minimum of 8 years experience within the fire industry.
  • C&G, BTEC, ONC/HNC qualification in an electrical/electronic discipline.
  • F.I.A units 1 and 2 and 3 BS 5839. Working knowledge of Unit 4 design.
