Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team at a lovely SEN Secondary School in the Portsmouth area.

About the Role:

  • Support the class teacher in providing a nurturing environment for pupils with Special Educational Needs.
  • Work on a 1:1 basis with some small group work to ensure pupils stay on track with the curriculum.
  • Support with outdoor day trips and activity days.
  • Embody the school's vision and core values.
  • Work with pupils with ASC, complex needs, and challenging behaviours.
  • Full-time role, 8:30am to 3:30pm.
  • Competitive pay rate: £95 per day.

Requirements:

  • Patience, proactivity, and resilience to support pupils with challenging needs.
  • Experience working within a SEN school (not essential).
  • Strong ability to develop relationships and rapport with pupils.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
