Specialty Doctor in Older Adult Community Mental Health Services

About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Psychiatrist to join our Older Adult Community Mental Health Services team in South West Kent. As a Specialty Doctor, you will be responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and treating mental health issues in adults over 65, including some younger adults with early-onset conditions.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct outpatient clinics, home visits, and residential/nursing home reviews to assess and treat mental health issues in older adults.
- Contribute to the memory assessment service and see diagnostic cases to provide comprehensive care.
- Work closely with a multi-disciplinary team, including nurses, social workers, and psychologists, to deliver high-quality care.
- Provide medical expertise and support to colleagues within the team.
- Participate in the West Kent On-call rota, requiring Section 12 approval for Mental Health Act (MHA) assessments.
- Engage in continuing professional development and Trust mandatory training to stay up-to-date with best practices.
