Oxford Quantum Circuits (OQC) is a leading innovator in quantum technology development. We are seeking an experienced Applied Scientist to join our Material Science and Device Engineering team.

About the Role

The successful candidate will play a crucial role in analysing data, interpreting results, and developing recommendations to improve our nanofabrication processes. This includes:

  • Analysing large datasets to extract insights and trends related to superconducting devices.
  • Developing scripts to extract information from various data sources and formats.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to understand OQC's data needs and develop data collection systems.
  • Creating automations for data and KPI tracking.
  • Generating high-quality reports on findings.

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A strong background in data science skills, including image processing and statistical methods.
  • Knowledge of fabrication techniques and characterisation methods for thin films, multilayers, and nano/micro structures.
  • Highly skilled in Python, with experience in data management, statistics, and data visualisation tools.
  • Effective communication and presentation skills for seamless collaboration across diverse technical teams and levels.
  • A PhD or Master's degree in physics, materials science, or a similar field.
  • Autonomous motivation and prioritisation of workload.
  • Analytical Thinking and attention to detail.
