Senior/Principal Geotechnical Engineer

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Senior/Principal Geotechnical Engineer to join our team at A F Howland Associates in Norwich, Norfolk.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Liaise with clients to understand their geotechnical needs and develop solutions.
  • Manage and lead geotechnical projects from tendering to completion, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality results.
  • Conduct site investigations, data analysis, and interpretative report writing to inform geotechnical designs.
  • Develop and implement geotechnical designs, including slope stability, excavations, retaining walls, and foundations, in accordance with UK site investigation techniques and Eurocode 7.
  • Manage junior staff and provide guidance and support to ensure their professional development.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices, and contribute to the technical development and expansion of our geotechnical services.
Requirements:
  • Extensive experience in geotechnical engineering, with a strong understanding of UK site investigation techniques and Eurocode 7.
  • Proven track record of delivering high-quality geotechnical projects, with a focus on client satisfaction and project success.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to manage and motivate junior staff.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and develop effective solutions.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible and adaptable approach to work.
