Senior/Principal Geotechnical Engineer

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Senior/Principal Geotechnical Engineer to join our team at A F Howland Associates in Norwich, Norfolk.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Liaise with clients to understand their geotechnical needs and develop solutions.
  • Manage and lead geotechnical projects from tendering to completion, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality results.
  • Conduct site investigations, data analysis, and interpretative report writing to inform geotechnical designs.
  • Develop and implement geotechnical designs, including slope stability, excavations, retaining walls, and foundations, in accordance with UK site investigation techniques and Eurocode 7.
  • Manage junior staff and systems, ensuring effective team performance and efficient project delivery.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments, best practices, and regulatory requirements, applying this knowledge to improve our services and stay competitive.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience in geotechnical engineering, with a strong background in UK site investigation techniques and Eurocode 7.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, colleagues, and junior staff.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and develop innovative solutions.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a high degree of self-motivation and personal responsibility.
