Haematology & Transfusion Specialist Biomedical Scientist - Clinical Laboratory Expert

Job Summary
This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled Biomedical Scientist to join our Haematology and Transfusion team and contribute to our Pathology Service.
Main Responsibilities
- Assist in providing reliable and accurate analytical data for the Trust, adhering to relevant regulatory standards and requirements.
- Work collaboratively with a team of Biomedical Scientists to deliver a patient-oriented medical laboratory service, ensuring efficient and effective care.
- Demonstrate exceptional work standards, including supervising, training, and guiding laboratory staff as needed.
- Deputise for Senior Biomedical Scientists and provide specialist advice to clinicians on test appropriateness and timescales.
- Contribute to achieving departmental quality standards.
- Develop specialist knowledge in Biochemistry, Immunology, Haematology, or Blood Transfusion through experience and training.
- Participate in agreed working patterns to provide a safe and effective service.
- Perform designated specialist roles, such as Health & Safety Coordinator, Fire Warden, or Film Coordinator, as assigned by Laboratory Managers.
We are seeking experienced Blood Sciences BMS staff with expertise in Biorad IH500 and extensive Haematology and Transfusion practice, with experience of APEX or Winpath LIMS being advantageous.
Person Specification
Qualifications
- BSc (Hons) or equivalent in Biomedical Sciences.
- Registration with the Health Care Professions Council (HCPC) as a Biomedical Scientist.
Experience
- At least two years of experience working in a relevant clinical laboratory environment.
- Evidence of supervisory experience.
- Evidence of training and developing staff experience.
- Evidence of contribution to service improvement.
- Evidence of leadership training.
