About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Biomedical Scientist to join our Haematology and Transfusion team at Portsmouth Hospitals University NHS Trust. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing reliable and accurate analytical data, working as part of a team to deliver a patient-orientated medical laboratory service, and demonstrating an exemplary standard of work at all times.
Key Responsibilities
- Assisting in the provision of analytical data in accordance with regulatory standards and requirements.
- Working as part of a team to deliver a patient-orientated medical laboratory service.
- Demonstrating an exemplary standard of work, including supervision, training, and guidance of laboratory staff.
- Deputising for Senior Biomedical Scientists as required.
- Providing specialist advice to clinicians on test appropriateness and timescales.
- Assisting in the achievement of departmental quality standards.
- Attaining specialist knowledge in Biochemistry, Immunology, Haematology, or Blood Transfusion through experience and training.
Requirements
- BSc (Hons) or equivalent in Biomedical Sciences.
- Registration with the Health Care Professions Council (HCPC) as a Biomedical Scientist.
- At least two years experience working in a relevant clinical laboratory environment.
- Evidence of supervisory experience, training, and developing staff.
- Evidence of contribution to service improvement and leadership training.
