Haematology and Transfusion Specialist Biomedical Scientist

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Biomedical Scientist to join our Haematology and Transfusion team at Portsmouth Hospitals University NHS Trust. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality analytical data and contributing to the efficient and effective care of our patients.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the provision of reliable and accurate analytical data for the Trust, in accordance with relevant regulatory standards and requirements.
- Work as part of a team of Biomedical Scientists to deliver a patient-orientated medical laboratory service.
- Supervise, train, and guide laboratory staff as required.
- Deputise for Senior Biomedical Scientists as needed.
- Provide specialist advice to clinicians on test appropriateness and timescales.
- Assist in achieving departmental quality standards.
- Participate in agreed working patterns to provide a safe and effective service.
Requirements
- BSc (Hons) or equivalent in Biomedical Sciences.
- Registration with the Health Care Professions Council (HCPC) as a Biomedical Scientist.
- At least two years' experience working in a relevant clinical laboratory environment.
- Evidence of supervisory experience.
- Evidence of training and developing staff experience.
- Evidence of contribution to service improvement.
- Evidence of leadership training.
