About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic cook to join our Bank Catering Team at Chestnut Tree House. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking nutritional meals for children and young people with life-limiting conditions.

Your duties will include:

  • Preparing and cooking meals to planned menus and individual needs, liaising with care staff as required
  • Preparing and cooking meals for special events, parties, and functions
  • Undertaking general cleaning duties as directed by the Chef Manager
  • Maintaining kitchen, cooking areas, storeroom, and kitchen equipment in a clean and safe condition
  • Assisting in putting away deliveries
  • Catering for dietary and allergy requirements, including pureeing meals
  • Being prepared to stand in for the Chef Manager, ordering, menu planning, and supervising staff

You will need to have a flexible, team-oriented approach and be comfortable working in a hospice environment. Shifts will be offered to cover annual leave and sickness.

Food Hygiene Level 2 and/or previous experience of catering in a care environment would be preferred. Due to the remote location and lack of public transport, access to your own transport is essential.
