Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Pediatric Nurse Specialist to join our team at The Portland Hospital. As a key member of our Paediatric Outpatients Department, you will provide exceptional nursing care to children and families, working collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide holistic, evidence-based nursing care to children and families, assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating programmes of care as needed.
  • Undertake delegated responsibility for the department in the absence of Senior Staff, ensuring a smooth and efficient operation.
  • Develop and maintain clinical skills and knowledge necessary to provide cutting-edge nursing care, staying up-to-date with the latest research and best practices.
  • Supervise junior staff, providing guidance and support to ensure they are equipped to deliver exceptional patient care.
  • Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement, promoting a progressive attitude towards patient care and driving innovation within the department.
Requirements
  • Registered Children's Nurse with post-registration paediatric outpatients experience desirable.
  • Phlebotomy skills a plus.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with children, families, and healthcare professionals.
  • Strong clinical skills and knowledge, with a commitment to delivering high-quality patient care.
  • Ability to work flexibly, including evenings and weekends, as required.
