Jerry Green Dog Rescue is a leading charity dedicated to providing a safe haven for dogs in need. We are seeking an experienced Retail Operations Manager to join our team and drive the growth of our retail and trading operations.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • To provide strategic leadership and management of our retail and trading operations, ensuring alignment with our organisational strategy.
  • To develop and implement an ambitious retail strategy, driving business growth through effective planning and preparation of business cases for new shops and e-commerce development.
  • To lead and role-model an empowerment/accountability culture across the retail organisation, championing a one-team/one-goal approach to retail development.
  • To oversee the management of transport operations, ensuring sufficient stock availability for all stores and maximising income from recyclables.
  • To ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and legislation, including Health & Safety, Fire, Trading Standards, and GDPR.

Retail Operations Management:

  • To manage the operational, financial, administrative, and compliance efficiency of the retail organisation, implementing practices, systems, and controls to ensure effective reporting and risk management.
  • To develop and agree Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for retail with the CEO and input from the Retail team, ensuring they are monitored and met.

Leadership and Development:

  • To provide leadership and guidance to retail managers, empowering them to own risk management and making decisions that align with the organisational strategy.
  • To develop and implement practices to ensure all paid staff and volunteers are updated on general charity matters and all charity staff are updated on retail and trading matters.

Diversity and Accessibility:

  • To promote diversity and inclusion within the retail organisation, ensuring that all staff and volunteers feel valued and respected.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Able to demonstrate keen strategic and business planning skills, with experience in delivering and monitoring retail and e-commerce targets and KPIs.
  • An accomplished and supportive line manager who leads by example and is committed to the professional development of their team.
  • Experience in Charity Retail, with evidence of success in managing teams and driving business growth.

Location:

This is a full-time permanent position, working Monday to Friday in our hybrid remote office in North Lincolnshire, DN20 0BJ.
