Job Opportunity: Knitwear Product Developer Assistant/Merchandiser

We are seeking a highly motivated and technical-minded individual to join our team as a Knitwear Product Developer Assistant/Merchandiser. This role will involve working directly in our knitwear factory, where the full design, development, and production process takes place.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Product Design and Research: Research current trends, liaise with buyers for feedback, and gain an understanding of customer requirements.
  • Product Development: Liaise closely with our knitwear technicians to develop patterns on Shima Seiki APEX design system and knitting machines.
  • Merchandising: Manage critical path, make booking requests, and ensure production meets customer requirements.
  • Account Management: Keep in constant contact with customer buyers, designers, and merch teams, relaying messages to the appropriate factory members.
  • Garment Tech: Update spec libraries, attend customer fit sessions, and ensure production has correct specs.
  • Factory Production Management: Ensure production is on schedule and meets customer requirements.
Requirements:
  • A highly motivated and technical-minded individual.
  • A confident individual willing to mix with all teams within the business and ask questions.
  • A high-level communicator with internal teams, retail clients, and suppliers.
  • Highly methodical and well-organized, able to prioritize workload to meet set deadlines.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and problem-solve.
  • Great time management skills and ability to multitask.
  • Ability to work on own initiative.
  • Computer literate, with an understanding of Microsoft 365 and Windows.
  • A quick learner under a fast-paced environment.
  • Most importantly, a passion for knitwear.
