Job Title: SEN Support Professional

This role is a great opportunity for someone seeking a long-term position with the potential for permanent employment. The successful candidate will work on a 1:1 basis with a child who has special educational needs (SEN), providing essential support and creating a tailored learning environment.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience as a Teaching Assistant in an SEN setting, possess patience, empathy, and strong communication skills, and hold a relevant qualification in supporting teaching and learning.

As a Learning Support Worker, you will be responsible for implementing individual education plans (IEPs) and monitoring student progress, managing behaviour, and encouraging positive social and emotional development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Working on a 1:1 basis with a child who is on the ASD spectrum
  • Planning and creating a learning environment that is adapted to the child's needs and requirements
  • Implementing and following individual education plans (IEPs) and monitoring student progress
  • Helping manage behaviour and encourage positive social and emotional development
  • Assisting the class teacher in creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment

Requirements:

Previous experience as a L2/L3 Teaching Assistant within an SEN settingPatient and empathetic with strong communication skillsA relevant qualification in supporting teaching and learningEnhanced DBS check or willingness to obtain one

Estimated Salary: £25,000 - £30,000 per annum
