About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Assistant Clinical/Counselling Psychologist to join our team at Berkshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our mental health services, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to individuals with mental health difficulties, neurological difficulties, neurodivergence, and learning disabilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to deliver evidence-based psychological interventions and support individuals with complex mental health needs.
  • Conduct assessments, develop treatment plans, and provide individual and group therapy sessions to promote positive outcomes.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care coordination and effective risk management.
  • Participate in audits, evaluations, and research projects to inform best practices and improve service delivery.
Requirements
  • Hold an upper second-class honours degree or higher in psychology and be entitled to graduate membership of the British Psychological Society.
  • Have undertaken additional training in relevant areas of professional psychology, mental health practice, neuropsychology, and/or research design and analysis.
  • Previous experience working as an Assistant Psychologist in mental health settings, with a strong understanding of risk management and clinical presentations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in emotionally charged environments.
  • High standard of letter and report writing, with the ability to communicate complex information to service users, carers, and colleagues.
