Our committed team is in search of a Lead Engineering Coordinator to enhance our operations.

In this role, you will be instrumental in executing high-quality Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and responsive maintenance solutions. We prioritize upholding superior standards and achieving client satisfaction through outstanding service and innovative approaches.

Key Responsibilities

  • Guarantee a secure working environment for all personnel and ensure adherence to the Health & Safety protocols.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between Atlas Workplace Services Engineers/sub-contractors, the contract coordinator, the contract manager, and respective clients.
  • Directly oversee the site engineering team, ensuring the delivery of services in a coordinated, supportive, and effective manner.
  • Manage a proficient service position that ensures compliance across various operational streams.
  • Collaborate with the Contract Manager to achieve efficient, cost-effective solutions across all areas.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Ensure the Group Health & Safety Policy is integrated into daily operations and address any unsafe behaviors promptly.
  • Interpret and respond to all client needs, even those outside the contract scope.
  • Act as a bridge between site teams, engineers, and the contract manager.
  • Through client engagement, identify key issues that matter to stakeholders and develop action plans to address them.
  • Foster and maintain strong relationships with clients to ensure accountability and ownership.
  • Work independently with minimal oversight, utilizing initiative as the contract manager operates remotely.
  • Compile and analyze data sets as necessary.
  • Provide effective communication and support to the contract coordinator and contract manager.
  • Assist the contract manager and central functions with client feedback, complaints, and escalations.
  • Serve as a central point for governance regarding administrative procedures, ensuring adherence to established processes.
  • Exhibit strong analytical skills to interpret results and ensure effective solutions.
  • Manage and oversee projects with support from team members.
  • Travel to other sites as necessary.
  • Conduct and document toolbox talks with engineering staff.
  • Ensure all Risk Assessments, Method Statements, and COSHH risk assessments are current and renewed as required.
  • Maintain the PUWER register and request new equipment as needed.
  • Perform regular PPE checks for the engineering team to ensure safety and compliance.
  • Identify training needs for the team and coordinate delivery through the line manager, ensuring relevance to business and Health & Safety standards.
  • Execute technical PPM and reactive maintenance for assigned tasks while ensuring team performance.
  • Guide, train, and supervise the engineering team, ensuring KPI targets are met, utilizing company procedures and disciplinary measures as necessary.
  • Maintain high engineering and personal standards for both team members and engineering spaces.
  • Liaise with sub-contractors on-site to ensure compliance with health and safety and engineering standards.
Candidate Profile Required Qualifications, Certifications, and Training
  • NVQ level 3 in relevant trade(s).
  • Completion of a full apprenticeship in relevant trades (Desirable).
  • ILM 2 Award in Leadership and Management (Desirable).
  • IPAF certification (Site Dependent).
  • PASMA certification (Site Dependent) (Desirable).
  • Accredited Health and Safety qualification such as NEBOSH General Certificate or IOSH Managing Safely (Desirable).
  • Asbestos Awareness and Legionella Awareness training.

Essential Skills and Experience for this Position

  • Proficient in computer use with a solid understanding of modern office software; 1 year of experience with asset/work management systems like MAXIMO / CAFM systems.
  • Minimum of 1 year in a supervisory role within an engineering maintenance environment or equivalent.
  • Familiarity with Android devices and laptop computers.
  • Experience supervising multi-skilled engineers in a Facilities Management context.
  • Previous experience in a similar environment, particularly across multiple sites and disciplines.
  • Strong customer and client focus with over 1 year in a customer-facing outsourcing role.
  • Experience managing sub-contractors, including issuing permits to work and access control.
