Job Title: Behavioural Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Behavioural Teaching Assistant to join our team at a dynamic and innovative special school in Newton Abbot. The successful candidate will have a passion for supporting young people with social, emotional and mental health challenges.

About the Role:

As a Behavioural Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the wellbeing and development of students with SEMH needs. You will work closely with the classroom teacher to help students engage in their learning and provide individualized support to a small group of students or work on a 1:1 basis.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Nurture and inspire students to reach their full potential
  • Provide emotional support and guidance to students with SEMH needs
  • Assist the classroom teacher in creating a safe and nurturing learning environment
Requirements:

We are looking for a candidate who is positive, empathetic, and enthusiastic, with a genuine desire to support young people. Experience or knowledge of SEMH is highly desirable.
