We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Behavioural Teaching Assistant to join our team at a dynamic and innovative special school in Newton Abbot. The school caters for students aged 5 to 16, across 2 sites, and you will have the opportunity to work across both.

In this role, you will provide essential support to students with social, emotional and mental health challenges. These young people may come from diverse and sometimes traumatic backgrounds, and many may also have ADHD or autism. Therefore, it is crucial that you are confident in managing challenging behaviour and creating a safe, nurturing environment for students to thrive.

Our school adopts a therapeutic approach, focusing on building meaningful relationships to create a supportive community for students to grow and develop. This approach has led to excellent attendance and successful outcomes.

As a Behavioural Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with our experienced teaching staff to develop and implement strategies to support students with SEMH needs. You will also contribute to the development of a positive and inclusive school culture, promoting social, emotional and mental wellbeing for all students.
