About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced 3rd Line IT Support Specialist to join our team in Wembley. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for providing technical support and systems administration for our manufacturing sites in the UK. You will work closely with our team to troubleshoot complex technical issues, provide application support, and ensure the smooth operation of our IT infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Provide 2nd and 3rd line technical support for our manufacturing sites, including troubleshooting and resolving complex technical issues.
  2. Offer application support, including installation, configuration, upgrading, and troubleshooting of applications in a mixed Windows/Linux environment.
  3. Develop and maintain strong knowledge of virtualization, including VMWare, and SQL, with a focus on troubleshooting SQL performance issues.
  4. Work closely with our team to ensure the smooth operation of our IT infrastructure, including DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, and Firewalls.
  5. Collaborate with our ITIL team to ensure that all technical issues are properly documented and escalated as necessary.

Requirements:

  1. 5 years of experience in a similar role, with a strong background in Windows and Linux/Unix OS's.
  2. Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  3. Strong knowledge of virtualization, including VMWare, and SQL, with a focus on troubleshooting SQL performance issues.
  4. Experience with automation tools, such as infrastructure as code (ansible), and deployment tools, such as MDT and WDS.
  5. Good understanding of ITIL methodology and certifications beneficial.
