We are seeking an experienced Bookkeeper to join their team in Haywards Heath, offering a competitive salary ranging from £27,000 to £35,000, as well as study support for AAT or ICB qualifications.

Job Overview

The ideal candidate will have proven experience in a bookkeeping role within an accountancy practice, with strong proficiency in accounting software (Sage, QuickBooks, Xero) and Excel. They should possess excellent attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple clients and deadlines effectively.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records for a diverse portfolio of clients, including day-to-day financial transactions such as purchases, sales, receipts, and payments.
  • Assist in the preparation of accounts up to trial balance, ensuring all financial data is accurate and compliant with relevant accounting standards.
  • Perform regular bank reconciliations to ensure the accuracy of clients' bank accounts and financial statements.
  • Prepare and submit VAT returns, ensuring compliance with HMRC regulations and deadlines.
  • Provide support in processing payroll for clients, ensuring accuracy and compliance with current legislation.
  • Produce management reports and financial statements as required, providing valuable insights to clients for their business operations.
Requirements
  • Experience: Proven experience in a bookkeeping role within an accountancy practice.
  • Qualifications: Part-qualified or qualified by experience, with study support available for AAT or ICB qualifications.
  • Skills: Strong proficiency in accounting software (Sage, QuickBooks, Xero) and Excel, with excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Team Player: Ability to work well within a team, sharing knowledge and supporting colleagues.
