TPF Recruitment is proud to be representing a distinguished independent firm in Sussex, which has experienced remarkable growth over the past few years. We are seeking an experienced Bookkeeper to join their thriving team in Haywards Heath.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Client Bookkeeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records for a diverse portfolio of clients. Record day-to-day financial transactions, including purchases, sales, receipts, and payments.
  • Accounts Preparation: Assist in the preparation of accounts up to trial balance, ensuring all financial data is accurate and compliant with relevant accounting standards.
  • Bank Reconciliation: Perform regular bank reconciliations to ensure the accuracy of clients' bank accounts and financial statements.
  • VAT Returns: Prepare and submit VAT returns, ensuring compliance with HMRC regulations and deadlines.
  • Payroll Support: Provide support in processing payroll for clients, ensuring accuracy and compliance with current legislation.
  • Management Reports: Produce management reports and financial statements as required, providing valuable insights to clients for their business operations.
  • Software Proficiency: Utilize accounting software such as Sage, QuickBooks, Xero, and Excel to maintain and manage clients' financial records efficiently.
  • Client Interaction: Communicate effectively with clients to address queries, provide updates, and deliver excellent customer service.
  • Team Collaboration: Work within a friendly and collaborative team of bookkeepers, contributing to a positive and supportive working environment.
Requirements
  • Experience: Proven experience in a bookkeeping role within an accountancy practice.
  • Qualifications: Part-qualified or qualified by experience. Study support is available for AAT or ICB qualifications.
  • Skills: Strong proficiency in accounting software (Sage, QuickBooks, Xero) and Excel. Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Team Player: Ability to work well within a team, sharing knowledge and supporting colleagues.
  • Proactive: A proactive approach to work, with the ability to manage multiple clients and deadlines effectively.
