Children's Staff Nurse

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Children's Staff Nurse to join our dynamic team in the Emergency Department at Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
Job SummaryThe successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality nursing care to children and young people in the Emergency Department, working closely with the multidisciplinary team to ensure the best possible outcomes.
Key Responsibilities- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate the nursing care for a defined caseload of patients
- Assume responsibility for individual clinical areas within the unit
- Maintain and continually develop specialist knowledge of nursing practice relevant to individual clinical area
- Contribute to the development of others through supervision, mentoring, and teaching
- Contribute toward the continuing development of professional nursing practice in the Emergency Department
- To follow trust guidance in regards to safeguarding
The ideal candidate will have:
- Articulate and knowledgeable of skills needed to deliver a high standard of care in the area of practice
- Able to work under own initiative within boundaries of role
- Demonstrates awareness of importance of working as part of a team
- Able to document observations, results, decisions, and actions etc. effectively in patient's notes and communicate these effectively to appropriate members of the multi-disciplinary team
- Able to communicate effectively with patients/relatives and carers and all members of the multi-disciplinary team
- Able to proactively contribute to the education of learners and non-registered and less experienced staff
The successful candidate will need to:
- Be a Registered Nurse (Part or 15 of register depending on area of practice)
- Hold a UK recognised Degree in Nursing relevant to post
- Evidence of ongoing professional development through maintenance of an ongoing NMC revalidation
