Job Description:

The London Diocesan Fund is seeking a highly skilled Area Giving and Finance Adviser to join our team in the Willesden Area. This role will provide comprehensive finance support to churches, enabling them to develop their ministries effectively and manage their finances efficiently.

Responsibilities:
  • Offer financial guidance and training to clergy, PCCs, and parish officers to enhance their financial management skills.
  • Assist the Bishop, Archdeacons, and Area Deans in managing Common Fund giving by the churches in the area.
  • Facilitate and monitor the award of grants and loans to churches from Area funds.
  • Support the Area Bishop's staff team and Area Council in monitoring the use of Area resources.
  • Promote generous giving through training initiatives and facilitate the introduction of different methods of giving.
Requirements:
  • Experience in encouraging charitable giving and managing professional relationships.
  • Educated to A Level or equivalent standard and proficient in MS Office suite.
  • Fluent in spoken English and able to communicate clearly in English.
  • Understanding of the ethos and mission of the Church of England.
  • Numerate and financially astute with strong administrative skills.
What We Offer:
  • A competitive remuneration package (£40,000 - £45,000 per annum)
  • 27 annual leave days, rising to 30 after 5 years' service, plus bank holidays
  • 15% employer pension contribution and salary sacrifice available
  • Death in service benefit x3 of basic gross salary
  • Enhanced maternity leave of six months full pay, after 12 months' employment
