Contract Farm Worker Job

Job Summary

Contract Personnel Ltd is seeking a skilled Farm Worker to join their team at a poultry farm in Thetford. As a Farm Worker, you will be responsible for maintaining and improving the high level of poultry welfare, ensuring all farm bio-security guidance is followed, and assisting with achieving target weights and mortalities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and improve poultry welfare to the highest standard
  • Ensure all farm bio-security guidance is followed, adhering to site-specific procedures
  • Assist in achieving target weights and mortalities through efficient working practices
  • Work to a high health and safety standard, reporting any ideas for improvement or concerns to the site manager
  • Produce accurate and up-to-date records to support farm operations
  • Collaborate with the farm manager and staff to ensure tasks are completed efficiently and safely
  • Monitor stock control of farm supplies and report any shortages to the site manager
  • Work positively and professionally with staff to achieve farm objectives

Requirements

  • No prior experience is required, as full induction and on-site training will be provided
  • Poultry Passport training and a Level 2 Poultry Farming qualification will be offered

Farm Worker Qualifications

  • Excellent timekeeping and attendance
  • Good communication skills to liaise with the team and manager
  • Strong team working skills to support and encourage colleagues across all Departments

Farm Worker Working Hours

  • 39 hours per week
  • Monday to Thursday: 07:30am - 04:00pm
  • Friday: 07:30am - 03:00pm
  • Every other weekend: 09:00am - 02:00/03:00pm

Farm Worker Pay

  • £11.45 per hour
