Main Purpose: As a Specialist Physiotherapist, you will work within a multi-disciplinary team to provide physiotherapy input to individuals with acquired brain injuries, utilizing the BIRT neurobehavioural model. This role requires collaboration across three Brainkind pathways: Neurobehavioural, Neurorestorative, and Well-being. Key responsibilities include developing specialist physiotherapy provision, liaising with internal and external professionals, and supporting the clinical leadership team to achieve Brainkind objectives.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities:
• Deliver comprehensive neurological assessments, analyses, and treatment plans, ensuring accountability and responsibility as a professional.
• Provide effective treatment plans and progress/adjust according to individual response, multidisciplinary team discussion, and other influencing factors.
• Ensure treatment plans are informed by best evidence and practice guidelines.
• Engage in complex clinical problem-solving to provide specialist professional advice and support.
• Work proactively as part of the multidisciplinary team, providing physiotherapy input within the BIRT neurobehavioural/neuropsychological model.
• Provide specialist physiotherapeutic interventions across the three Brainkind pathways.
• Participate in setting multidisciplinary team goals as per Brainkind goal setting guidelines.
• Safely use relevant physiotherapeutic equipment, devices, and interventions, referring to other services when necessary.
• Capture outcomes of treatment using Brainkind's standardized measures.
• Ensure timely completion of Brainkind's outcome measure database and support the local team in doing so.
• Effectively manage time and caseload within a pressurized environment.
• Prioritize workload and instruct, support, and delegate tasks to physiotherapists, assistants, and students.
• Comply with responsibilities regarding risk management and safeguarding.
• Utilize knowledge and skills for safe moving and handling of individuals with challenging behavior in community and inpatient environments.
• Produce and present reports detailing assessment, treatment, outcomes, recommendations, and referrals.
• Educate and teach support workers to participate in ongoing rehabilitation care plans.
• Maintain and supervise accurate clinical documentation according to professional standards and local policies.
• Overcome barriers to communication using various verbal, non-verbal, and listening skills.
• Have comprehensive knowledge of relevant local services and initiate appropriate referrals.
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to achieve effective discharge planning.
• Provide sufficient specialist clinical support and supervision to students, assistants, and physiotherapy colleagues for effective clinical roles.
