We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Physiotherapist to join our team as a Specialist Physiotherapist - Neurorehabilitation Expert. This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires a strong clinical background and a passion for working with individuals with acquired brain injuries.
Main Responsibilities- Work as a specialist within the multi-disciplinary team providing physiotherapy input within the BIRT neurobehavioural model to individuals with acquired brain injuries.
- Provide specialist physiotherapeutic interventions across the three Brainkind pathways: Neurobehavioural, Neurorestorative, and Well-being.
- Work proactively as part of the multi-disciplinary team providing physiotherapy input within the BIRT neurobehavioural/neuropsychological model.
- Engage in a specialist area of interest within the wider physio team.
- Participate in setting multi-disciplinary team goals as per Brainkind goal setting guidelines.
- Identify and safely use relevant physiotherapeutic equipment, devices, and other interventions.
- Capture outcomes of treatment, using Brainkind's standardised measures.
- Ensure timely completion of Brainkind's outcome measure database.
- Effectively manage time and caseload within a potentially pressurised environment.
- Prioritise own workload and instruct, support, and delegate the workload of physiotherapists, assistants, and students.
- Understand and comply with responsibilities regarding risk management and safeguarding.
- Use knowledge and skills required for safe moving and handling of individuals with acquired brain injuries.
- Produce and present reports which include details of assessment, treatment, outcomes, recommendations, and appropriate referrals.
- Educate and teach support workers to participate in ongoing rehabilitation care plans for individuals with acquired brain injuries.
- Maintain and supervise accurate clinical documentation in line with professional standards, and local policies and procedures.
- Overcome barriers to communication using a range of verbal, non-verbal, and listening skills.
- Have comprehensive knowledge of relevant local services and ensure that appropriate referrals are initiated.
- Work closely with the multi-disciplinary team to achieve effective discharge planning.
- Provide sufficient specialist clinical support and supervision to students, assistants, and physiotherapy colleagues for them to carry out their clinical roles effectively.
- Strong clinical background in physiotherapy, with a focus on neurorehabilitation.
- Experience working with individuals with acquired brain injuries.
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to prioritise own workload and delegate tasks effectively.
- Comprehensive knowledge of relevant local services and policies.
- Ability to work safely with individuals with challenging behaviours.
