Senior Environmental Scientist - Water Quality

We are seeking an experienced Senior Environmental Scientist to join our Water Team in Stoke, specializing in Water Quality. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality projects and supporting the growth of our water quality workstream.

Our Water Team provides expertise to deliver specialist water quality projects and supports other functions in Wardell Armstrong through multidisciplinary projects. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on a diverse range of exciting projects for public and private sector clients, including consultation with regulatory bodies such as the Environment Agency, Natural Resources Wales, and the Scottish Environmental Protection Agency.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Project management and technical delivery of water quality projects
  • Experience in consultancy in the UK, including project management and technical delivery of water quality projects
  • Familiarity with UK regulations and legislation, as well as relevant water quality standards
  • Experience in providing written and financial input to tenders and proposal documents
  • Supporting, mentoring, and training early career Environmental Scientists
  • Representing the firm at internal and external meetings, with a track record of client and stakeholder engagement
  • Collection of groundwater and surface water samples in accordance with best practice sampling methods and quality control of data
  • Water quality modelling experience, including modelling to support Nutrient Neutrality and Phreeqc modelling
