Job Summary:

The Data Centre HVAP Technician will oversee and supervise both planned and reactive maintenance, working closely with the Building Engineering Supervisor and Shift Leader. The role involves ensuring all maintenance work complies with site policies, procedures, and health and safety legislation.

The technician will report to the Engineering Shift Leader and assist shift teams to ensure all works are performed safely, efficiently, and within specified timelines. This is a continental shift role for an experienced HVAP.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Carry out routine maintenance on building plant, equipment, and systems, ensuring all work meets or exceeds service level agreements.
  2. Respond to Building Management System (BMS) alarms and perform emergency repairs as required.
  3. Manage the Permit to Work system and ensure appropriate controls are in place.
  4. Create and utilize switching schedules, SOPs, and EOPs in line with company policies and Safe Systems of Work (SSOW).
  5. Maintain Evaporative Cooling Systems and domestic water systems to comply with the L8 standard.
  6. Ensure availability of suitable spares for maintenance tasks.
  7. Keep comprehensive maintenance records through REALM task sheets.
  8. Prepare Method Statements and Risk Assessments to ensure safe working practices.
  9. Supervise engineering subcontractors and ensure compliance with contractual and site processes.
  10. Foster good working relationships with CBRE and client staff.
  11. Ensure a safe working environment in compliance with company and client policies and procedures.
  12. Represent CBRE professionally to clients and visitors, promoting excellent customer service.
  13. Maintain professional and technical skills through continuous personal development.
  14. Ensure work packs include necessary documentation and review subcontractor RAMS.
  15. Ensure training and personal development are up to date.
  16. Support incident management in the event of unplanned incidents or faults on site.
  17. HVAP responsibilities applicable to this role.
Requirements:
  1. Manual Handling Training (advantageous).
  2. HV Authorisation.
  3. Current Wiring Regulations certificate.
  4. Level 3 NVQ in a related discipline.
  5. Emergency First Aid at Work Qualification.
  6. Experience managing incidents or faults in a business-critical environment.
  7. Demonstrable experience in a similar role within a similar organisation.
  8. Strong understanding of health and safety obligations in maintenance activities.
  9. Excellent verbal communication skills.
  10. Numerate and literate.
  11. Strong diligence in safe working practices.
  12. Self-motivated with a high level of personal integrity.
  13. Ability to work well both in a team and independently.
  14. Organised and capable of working in high-pressure environments.
  15. Courteous and presentable, with exposure to clients at all levels.
  16. Ability to ascend and descend vertical access equipment.
  17. Flexibility regarding working hours.
  18. PASMA & IPAF certifications (preferred).
  19. Knowledge of multiple interlinked systems (Fire, PMS, BMS).
  20. Strong ownership and accountability skills.
