About the Role

HM Treasury-1 is seeking a skilled Financial Policy Specialist to join its Government Financial Reporting team. This exciting opportunity will allow the successful candidate to gain a deep understanding of the budgeting and statistical classification frameworks used to promote sound financial management across government.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Work closely with team members to provide high-quality advice on statistical classification and budgeting treatment for new entities, restructuring, and major government transactions.
  2. Lead the annual project to update the Consolidated Budgeting Guidance document, setting out the central government budgeting framework.
  3. Provide advice to colleagues across government on budgeting framework and data system structure.
  4. Monitor and manage risk related to statistical classification issues.
  5. Support the relationship between HM Treasury and the Office for National Statistics (ONS) by building strategic relationships and acting as liaison.

About You
