Job Description

We are looking for a highly qualified and experienced Consultant Psychiatrist who will work as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide senior medical cover care to 12 inpatients on our Male Acute ward. The post holder will be responsible for taking overall responsibility for patient treatment plans, assessing referrals, and undertaking mental state examinations of service users. They will also be expected to participate in ward rounds, clinical audits, and risk assessments.

The successful candidate will have extensive knowledge and experience in adult psychiatry and mental health diagnosis, as well as a strong understanding of the Mental Health Act and Code of Practice. They will be a first-rate communicator, able to interview, assess, and treat patients while writing clear and comprehensive medical notes. A commitment to continued professional development and a willingness to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team are essential.
