About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Catering Assistant to join our team at St Peters. As a Catering Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our school kitchen, providing high-quality food and excellent customer service to our students and staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the preparation and serving of meals, including food preparation, cooking, and presentation.
- Help maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment, adhering to health and safety standards.
- Support the team in the daily preparation of the dining room and counter.
- Undertake cleaning duties in the kitchen and dining areas, including the washing of kitchen utensils, crockery, and cutlery.
- Store goods delivered and assist with the preparation of buffets and working lunches.
- Perform other duties related to the work of the department, as assigned.
Requirements
- Basic food preparation and service skills.
- Ability to work in a busy kitchen environment.
- Basic Food Hygiene Certificate – Level 1.
- Knowledge of health and safety procedures and food safety management systems.
- Creativity and presentation skills.
