About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to join our School Meals Team as a Catering Assistant. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for assisting with the preparation and serving of meals, as well as maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with food preparation and presentation
  • Help with serving meals and collecting used crockery and cutlery
  • Contribute to the daily cleaning and maintenance of the kitchen and dining areas
  • Store goods delivered and assist with inventory management
  • Participate in the preparation of buffets and working lunches
  • Undertake other duties related to the work of the department, as assigned

Requirements

  • Basic food preparation and service skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment
  • Basic Food Hygiene Certificate – Level 1
  • Knowledge of health and safety procedures and food safety management systems
  • Creativity and presentation skills
