Greens is seeking a highly skilled Scottish Parliamentary Assistant to join our team in the Highlands and Islands region.

The estimated salary for this role is £25,000 - £30,000 per annum.

About the Role:

We are looking for a passionate and well-organised individual with experience in campaign and policy development. You will have a strong understanding of the Scottish political and parliamentary process, as well as the public policy landscape.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Debate prep, research and speaking notes.
  • Drafting written correspondence.
  • Reviewing parliamentary motions.
  • Gathering and distributing valuable data.

You will also be responsible for:

  • Keeping up-to-date knowledge of policy areas and relevant issues.
  • Designing and coordinating campaigns and research projects.
  • Analysing, evaluating and interpreting data and statistics.
  • Building and maintaining relationships with stakeholders.
  • Producing high-quality press briefings, speeches, presentations and written materials.

About You:

To be successful in this role, you will need an interest in the Scottish political landscape, sympathy for Greens' aims and objectives, empathy and ability to build relationships with various people, a flexible and adaptable approach, excellent written, verbal and IT skills, capability in monitoring media developments and sourcing information, and a good working relationship with the media, political and policy world.
