Job Title: Highways Operations Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Highways Operations Manager to join our dynamic team at Lancashire County Council.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to lead and manage the delivery of Operational Highway Structures Projects, working closely with design teams to ensure that projects are practical and deliverable. You will have experience in managing both direct and subcontract labour, ensuring the delivery of a high-performance service while producing high-quality works for our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and motivate Operational Engineers and their teams in delivering a wide range of Highways Structures Projects.
  • Experience in dealing with 3rd party organisations such as District and Parish Councils, the Environment Agency, Highways England, Network Rail, and The Canals and Rivers Trust.
  • Utilise data to inform our service delivery and improve performance by ensuring designs are both practical and economical.
  • Overcome emergencies by leading the team to ensure our Highways are safe for its users.
  • Support corporate responsibilities with political awareness.
