Job Description:

This role sits within the Bovill Newgate arm of the Ocorian business, working closely with investment management clients across the UK, Channel Islands, and Ireland. As a Compliance Specialist, you will be responsible for supporting the client advisory team in regulatory work, client meetings, and projects such as annual compliance audits or mock-examinations.

Your expertise will include a deep understanding of the FCA Handbook, AIFMD, SMCR, MIFID II, IFPRU, and the financial promotions regime under COBS 4 and Consumer Duty. You will also be expected to maintain a good knowledge of IT systems and be able to learn the in-house compliance system quickly.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Supporting the client advisory team in regulatory work and client meetings
  • Assisting in and leading compliance reviews, assessments, and documentation drafting
  • Understanding and summarizing regulatory change and writing articles for our newsletter
  • Participating in regulatory projects, such as annual compliance audits or mock-examinations
  • Assisting with FCA authorisation applications and other regulatory transactions
Requirements:
  • Relevant experience in compliance and financial regulation (3-5 years)
  • Strong knowledge of the FCA Handbook and related regulations
  • Good IT skills with the ability to learn in-house compliance systems
  • Able to communicate effectively with all levels of seniority within client businesses
