About the Role

Parexel's Early Phase Clinical Unit is a leading provider of innovative clinical research solutions. We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Clinical Research Assistant to join our Clinical Operations team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the conduct of Phase 1 studies across all therapeutic areas, ensuring compliance with ICH Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and local regulatory requirements.
  • Work in the wards, sampling blood, urine, and other biofluid samples for clinical pathology, pharmacokinetic, or pharmacodynamic investigations.
  • Maintain clinical stock and prepare clinical equipment for areas of study.
  • Collate CRFs, laboratory, and other results, performing quality control checks to ensure completeness and accuracy.
  • Collect, process, and label urine, breath alcohol, and other specimens.
  • Complete CRFs and capture other data as required.
  • Organize subject admission and orientation.
  • Perform investigations on subjects, including physiological measurements, venepuncture, and ECGs.
  • Prepare clinical equipment and areas for studies.
  • Prepare study documentation, including forms and logs.
  • Supervise urine and fecal collections.
  • Take blood samples by venepuncture and from cannulas.
  • Order volunteer payments on Clinbase.
  • Perform equipment maintenance and checking on a weekly basis.

  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple and varied tasks with enthusiasm and prioritize workload with attention to detail.
  • Willingness to work in a matrix environment and value the importance of teamwork.
  • Practical and dexterous.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure.
  • Computer literate.
  • Use of initiative, ability to meet deadlines, and work prioritization.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Preferred degree (ideally in life science) or equivalent qualification and/or experience working in clinical research and/or experience of working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Or a wealth of experience working as a Healthcare Assistant.
