About the Role:

This is a challenging yet rewarding position, requiring strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills. The successful candidate will lead a dedicated team, ensuring high standards of care, safeguarding, and regulatory compliance. You will oversee the preparation and implementation of care plans, manage the home's budget, finances, and resources efficiently, and foster an inclusive, respectful, and diverse environment for both staff and young people.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure the home operates in compliance with the Children's Homes Regulations 2015 and other relevant legislation.
  • Safeguard the well-being of young people, promoting their physical, emotional, and social development within a positive and supportive environment.
  • Provide leadership and direction to the staff team, ensuring that staffing levels and team performance meet the needs of the young people in care.
  • Oversee the preparation and implementation of care plans, ensuring that regular reviews and planning are conducted in line with statutory requirements.
  • Manage the home's budget, finances, and resources efficiently.
  • Ensure adherence to operational procedures, including Health & Safety, fire safety, and other regulatory and safety audits.
  • Foster an inclusive, respectful, and diverse environment for both staff and young people.
  • Build positive relationships with external agencies, partners, and the local community to maximise the opportunities available to the young people in our care.
  • Conduct regular quality control checks, audits, and other regulatory duties to maintain high operational standards.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience in managing children's residential homes or similar settings.
  • Must hold (or be willing to obtain) Registered Manager status for Children's Residential Homes.
  • A solid understanding of the Children's Homes Regulations 2015 and other relevant child care legislation.
  • Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills.
  • Experience in managing staff, providing training, and fostering team development.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
Estimated Salary: £50,000 - £60,000 per annum
