Job Title: Principal Applied Psychologist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Applied Psychologist to join our Community Enablement and Recovery Team (CERT) across the Black Country.

About the Role

The successful candidate will have a strong background in working with individuals with severe and enduring mental illness and complex emotional needs. You will have the opportunity to integrate approaches and work for medium to longer term durations with service users.

You will be an active member of CERT's leadership and multi-disciplinary team, supporting service development initiatives, delivery, and evaluation of this new pathway. You will also have the opportunity to engage in research initiatives and contribute to the development of the Trust's psychology offer.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide specialised and evidence-based psychological interventions to clients and families requiring input from the CMH Rehabilitation Pathway.
  • Offer complex assessments leading to the co-production of psychological formulations for the client and for the team.
  • Work as a member of the multi-disciplinary team to provide an effective and coordinated service for clients and their families.
  • Provide advice, consultation, and clinical supervision to colleagues, and guidance to professional and non-professional carers.
  • Engage with the service leadership within CERT, supporting the development, delivery, and evaluation of this new pathway.
Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Post-graduate doctoral level training in Applied Psychology.
  • At least 2 years post-qualification experience.
  • HCPC registration.
  • Experience of working with individuals with severe and enduring mental illness and complex emotional needs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
