Job Title: Financial Administrator

About the Role:

The East Cambridgeshire District Council is seeking a skilled Financial Administrator to join their Finance Team. As an integral member of the team, you will be responsible for providing effective and efficient financial administration support to the Accounts Payable and Receivable ledgers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Input purchase invoices, matching purchase orders, and paying suppliers
  • Reconcile monthly supplier statements
  • Follow up on unauthorized invoices and outstanding purchase orders not matched
  • Monitor incoming emails/post to the Finance Department, redirecting mail to relevant persons and dealing with any queries from suppliers
  • Set up new supplier requests from budget holders
  • Raise invoices for monthly subscriptions, periodic, and ad-hoc requests
  • Send reminders for outstanding invoices monthly
  • Process payment vouchers and refund requests
  • Collect direct debit payments
  • Run daily/monthly payment reports and distribute to budget holders

Requirements:

  • 4 GCSEs or equivalent (to include English and Mathematics) or able to demonstrate relevant working experience within an Accounts Payable environment dealing with supplier invoices
  • Good numeracy and administrative skills
  • Good communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Computer literate with quick and accurate typing skills
  • Ability to use own initiative and prioritize and manage own work
  • Proven knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, Outlook) and the ability to use and/or create spreadsheets and word documents including mail merge
  • Working knowledge of work practices and office procedures
  • Experience of data input

Estimated Salary: £25,000 - £30,000 per annum
