About the Position

We are looking for a highly motivated Environmental Science Professional to join our team at UK Atomic Energy Authority.

In this role, you will work closely with our experts to develop high-impact research and development programmes, design, deliver and operate cutting-edge tritium life cycle facilities, and engage in active information sharing with staff and students.

A key aspect of this position is contributing to the development of professional skills through a core suite of activities designed to develop your general work-related skills and professional qualifications.

The salary for this role is estimated at £40,000 per annum, reflecting the importance of this position in driving innovation and excellence in the field of environmental science.

Key Responsibilities
  • Designing and constructing waste assay plans, including the execution and analysis of data production, scientific reports, scholarly papers, and presenting findings at conferences.
  • Supporting WIG teams performing activities associated with waste management and waste disposal, including sampling goals, the assay and modelling of waste, peer reviews of data, consignment development and co-ordination of consignments off-site as directed by UKAEA procedures and instructions.
  • Ensuring compliance with site Environmental Permit/s, radiological control documentation, and collaborating with staff and students on Early Career projects.
