The salary for this role is **£46,293**

This role requires employees to **complete an online Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS)**, including The Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) checks for criminal convictions.

**The Role**

As the **Safety & Health Business Partner,**_ _**you will play a pivotal role in providing operational support in matters of industrial safety and health.

Your primary focus will be to support the UKAEA Building, Facilities Management and Campus Development working closely with the division leaders and their Teams to drive a proactive culture in support of construction, upgrades and maintenance of the UKAEA Culham estate.

This will suit a safety & health professional who is, or working towards chartered status and willing to challenge, mentor and support senior management in matters of safety & health.

**Additional Responsibilities**
- Provide safety and health expertise to staff and contractors within the business area to ensure statutory compliance.
- Support the business through monitoring and measuring safety & health performance and recommend actions for improvement.
- With the relevant Head of Division conduct audits and inspections of the business areas.
- To manage the S&H incident reports relevant to Divisions, ensuring appropriate actions are assigned, cause analysis is completed and there is a validation of closure.
- To lead on S&H investigations including undertaking and completing Fact Finds and attending formal inquiries.

**Qualifications** Essential Requirements**:

- Degree or equivalent in engineering or science related discipline
- NEBOSH Diploma in Occupational Safety and Health or equivalent
- Chartered Member of IOSH or working towards CMIOSH.
- Experience in management of safety and health in construction or facilities management.
- Experience in carrying out audits and investigations
