We are looking for an accomplished and dedicated leader to serve as Assistant Head of School at Positive Futures Recruitment Ltd. This pivotal role requires someone who can foster a collaborative environment, inspire creativity, and drive educational excellence.

Role Overview:

In the absence of the Head of School, the Assistant Head of School will assume full leadership responsibility for the school, overseeing school examinations and driving academic success. They will work closely with staff and students to maintain strategic objectives and ensure effective implementation of the Quality Improvement Plan.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work collaboratively with staff and students to achieve strategic objectives
  • Assist the Head of School in ongoing monitoring and evaluation of the Quality Improvement Plan
  • Develop and implement staff training programs, focusing on progress, growth, and professional development
  • Maintain responsibility for student welfare, conduct, and progress, ensuring individual needs are effectively disseminated to all staff
  • Foster strong relationships with parents, carers, external agencies, and the wider community to promote pupil achievement, personal development, and inclusion opportunities
  • Lead, monitor, and evaluate the school curriculum in partnership with other key staff members, while also monitoring student attainment and progress
Requirements:
  • Qualified teacher status
  • Leadership experience
  • Experience teaching in a specialist environment
  • Evidence of major whole-school responsibilities and experience turning policy into effective practice
  • Experience working with the community and developing links
  • Leadership of a significant area or phase, including responsibility for raising standards across the whole school
  • Experience working with school governors or trustees/executives
  • A clear understanding of essential qualities necessary for effective teaching and learning
  • Experience using effective behaviour and teaching strategies, preferably within a special school setting
  • Understanding of TEACCH or similar ASD intervention and support strategies
  • Up-to-date knowledge of statutory regulations and guidance relating to the post, including OFSTED requirements and latest developments in special education

Estimated Salary Range: £51,200 - £57,300 per annum (dependent on experience)
