Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  1. Supporting the tracking of requirements throughout the project lifecycle and providing status updates as necessary;
  2. Ensuring that the force's requirements are fully understood before commencing any project or change delivery;
  3. Acting as a point of contact for project technical requirements and providing guidance;
  4. Developing and enhancing relationships with key business stakeholders, actively managing their expectations and monitoring satisfaction levels;
  5. Participating in the Impact Assessment process, capturing all specialist input into any proposed initiatives;
  6. Facilitating DDaT input into broader force project proposals or business cases;
  7. Defining and using templates and tools to ensure consistency across the department in scoping project deliverables;
  8. Working with Project Managers to ensure that the intended benefits of the solution are clear and that the technical analysis is capable of supporting them;
  9. Supporting the development of project proposals to ensure that the technical requirements of the solution are clearly articulated and met by the design;
  10. Supporting the QAT Senior Analyst in the appropriate testing of systems, application integrations, and functional procedures as necessary;
  11. Recording test cases in line with project plans and highlighting any key issues or risks observed to the QAT Senior Analyst;
  12. Assisting the QAT Senior Analyst with queries relating to test planning, processes, and execution;
  13. Supporting and overseeing the User Acceptance phase of testing;
  14. Aiding with the overall scoping of projects as needed to inform the technical requirements from the solution as determined by the end user;
  15. Producing reports capturing the business requirements of any proposed change and the technical output needed to realise these requirements;
  16. Providing input into testing conclusions as to whether or not the new design or solution meets the required stakeholder requirements;
  17. Capturing all required testing metrics, generating relevant reports, and communicating these in an accurate and timely manner;
  18. Designing and executing test cases using standard testing techniques;
  19. Come up with different business scenarios for a feature, working with others in the team;
  20. Awareness of non-functional testing techniques;
  21. Executing non-functional test scenarios and identifying defects;
  22. Running non-functional tests others have written and knowing the processes to do so;
  23. Understanding a range of standard non-functional testing techniques;
  24. Identifying simple patterns and trends;
  25. Investigating problems and opportunities in existing processes and contributing to recommending solutions;
  26. Working with stakeholders to identify objectives and potential benefits;
Requirements

The successful candidate will have the following experience:

  1. Experience in an analyst role specifying technical solution requirements;
  2. Graduate qualification or equivalent experience;
  3. Ability to understand customer requirements and document the ways in which those requirements could be met by the system;
  4. Experience of COTS product delivery to business users;
  5. Ability to manage User Acceptance Testing;
  6. Ability to analyse, present data clearly;
  7. Root cause issue diagnosis;
  8. Experience of liaising with development and support teams;
  9. Experience of liaising with 3rd party suppliers;
  10. Previous experience working in and /3rd /4th line role or otherwise hands-on technical role;
  11. Previous experience completing user testing;
