We are seeking a highly skilled Consultant Psychiatrist to join our Mental Health Services for Older People (MHSOP) Community team, covering the Cardiff North West Locality.
About the RoleThis is a permanent 10-session Consultant post working in the Cardiff North West Community Mental Health Team. The role involves assessing and treating individuals over 65 years old with functional and organic illnesses, often with co-morbid physical and mental health needs.
Assessments take place in both community settings (private homes or care homes) and hospital settings (outpatient, day hospital, acute assessment, and extended assessment venues).
Key Responsibilities- Work closely with other MHSOP services, including the Community REACT team, Nursing and Residential Care Home Liaison Service, Younger Onset Dementia Service, Assessment and Recovery Unit, and General Hospital Liaison Service.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive care for older adults.
- Develop and implement treatment plans to address complex mental health needs.
