Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Theatre Nurse or Operating Department Practitioner (ODP) to join our team at Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.

About the Role

This is a full-time position that requires the ability to work effectively as part of a team, communicate complex information to patients and colleagues, and demonstrate a commitment to ongoing professional development.

The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of theatre protocols and procedures, with experience working in a similar environment. You will also possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with colleagues and patients alike.

Key Responsibilities
  • To ensure safe and effective care is provided to patients within the theatre department, adhering to trust and unit policies and procedures.
  • To manage the team as a team leader, participating as an active member of the scrub and circulating team in a designated highly specialist area without supervision as appropriate.
  • To demonstrate a high level of communication and relationship skills promoting and maintaining effective liaison throughout the Unit team and with the wider multidisciplinary team.
Requirements
  • Registered Nurse with active NMC registration or ODP with HCPC.
  • Nursing Degree/Diploma or ODP qualification.
