Job Title: Homelessness Prevention Floating Support Worker

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our Housing Options Team as a Homelessness Prevention Floating Support Worker. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing practical support to clients threatened with homelessness.

About the Role:

As a Homelessness Prevention Floating Support Worker, you will work closely with our team of Homelessness and Housing Advice Officers to assist a caseload of clients identified as requiring practical support to sustain their current accommodation. Your primary responsibility will be to develop and implement tailored support plans to help clients access benefits, support services, and debt management, while providing general practical support and encouragement to those facing homelessness in their own homes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement tailored support plans for clients
  • Assist clients in accessing benefits, support services, and debt management
  • Provide general practical support and encouragement to clients
  • Work closely with the Housing Options Team to ensure effective service delivery
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A minimum of one year's experience of working with vulnerable people, including those with mental health issues, substance misuse, and debt issues
  • A knowledge of the welfare benefit system and what benefits are applicable to our clients
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Able to work under pressure and manage competing demands
